Cycling Holidays in, Vercors France with Velo Vercors
We are a small, specialist cycling holiday centre located in the spectacular Vercors National Park and gateway to the Alps. Soaring limestone cliffs and vertiginous drops to the valleys below the Vercors is home to some of the most impressive roads in France namely, Gorge de la Bourne and Col de la Machine. The region is also home to numerous Alpine climbs including Col de Tourniol, Col de Romeyere and Col des Limouches regularly featured in the Tour de France.
The Vercors are a superb place to cycle for many reasons. The scenery is incredible, the gradients are friendly, the choice of routes 2nd to none, traffic is low and road surfaces are excellent.
From our home in St.Jean-en-Royans we are perfectly positioned for day rides into the gorges and Alpine climbs situated on the western side of the Vercors range.
As well as the gorges and Alpine climbs there are the rolling hills of the Drome and the flatter Isere Valley offering a huge choice of routes for those wanting less of a challenge or famililes wanting an active holiday on two wheels. All our routes are along the most scenic, quietest roads passing through mediaeval towns, walnut orchards and river valleys with never ending photo opportunities, cafe and restaurant stops.
This unique region is where Roger finished his 12 year semi-pro cycling career and we hope we can share and pass on our passion for what we think is an undiscovered cyclists' paradise.

We fell in love with the Vercors and surrounding region over 20 years ago when Roger was signed to the VCRP team in the nearby town of Romans-sur-Isere for the last 2 years of his 12 year International/GB cycling career. The club was also home to the Tour de France yellow Jersey holder and local boy, Charley Mottet.
Having trained and raced in the region, experienced the highs, lows, determination and stamina it takes to be an elite cyclist Roger is here to pass on his cycling knowledge, nutritional advice and top tips on Alpine climbing and descending.
If you don't want the hassle of bringing your own bike you can hire from a selection of Top Spec Carbon and Aluminium road bikes, Scott or Trek hybrid bikes, children's bikes, tagalongs or childseats.
We are an easy destination to get to by train, plane or car for a week or a weekend. 7 hours door to door from London, St.Pancras to Valence TGV. For non-cyclists or those who also want a different experience there is a huge variety of other activities and sightseeing interests.
A wonderful base to explore the beautiful surrounding cols with ample opportunity to kill yourself chasing the fast boys up the hills... Roger is a fantastic guide...great hospitality thank you.
